Competition Season!
It’s been a huge week for Aspiring Gymsports competing in our first back to back competitions- sooo much travelling, Dunedin last weekend and Invercargill this weekend! The one thing that stands out? For a small club, we punch well above our weight against the big clubs! . 3 podium finishes for the club out of the 6 divisions we entered. MAG Level 3, Thomas Mitchell 2nd overall- first Otago boy! WAG Step 6 Bella Soper, 2nd overall and Step 4 Jamie Kerr, 2nd overall restricted hours.
Our gymnasts train 3.5-8 hours compared to 12-18 hours by gymnasts from other clubs. We are sooooo proud of your performances. Special mention to Bella Soper who has now qualified for Step 7 and Jamie Kerr Step 5- welcome aboard to National Levels Jamie, you are the 4th gymnast in our club to reach this achievement.
Ajia Tiplady Step 5 won the floor, Step 4 gymnasts Grace White 4th place on bar and Annie Wells 6th and 7th on floor and beam. MAG Level 1 gymnasts Marshall Watson, Charlie Nisbet and Dan Heiler all received a top 10 apparatus placing. Hunter Cranfield placed 4th in Level 2 2nd on floor and vault and 3rd on P.Bars and H.Bar.
